Background
Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank's South Yorkshire Business Centre annually hold a professional networking event with a difference. Their Superstars Challenge event involves putting their clients through a range of sporting activities.
The day's activities saw 65 professionals from South Yorkshire including lawyers, accountants, valuers and recruitment executives take part in numerous activities including hovercraft racing.
Execution
The Superstars Challenge took part in various areas at Don Valley Sheffield including the world class outdoor athletics arena where the likes of Linford Christie OBE and Dame Kelly Homes have run and the Indoor Straight Exhibition Hall.
Don Valley Sheffield is in a convenient location with the ability to accommodate the additional sporting activities that were required. The programme comprised of eight sporting activities including Hovercraft Racing, Obstacle Course, Basketball Shooting, Rugby Conversions, Target Golf and Back to School 100m race and quiz.
The event culminated in a 'Swedish Relay', a track event in which teams are made up of 4 runners. The first runner runs 100 metres, the second 200 metres, the third one 300 metres and the forth runner 400 metres (the total length of the race is 1 killometre).
Verdict
To achieve an overall positive verdict Don Valley Sheffield needed to deliver a fun, exciting and memorable event to help Alliance and Leicester to meet their objectives.
The event received a number of complimentary comments from those professionals that took park in the event, and feedback confirmed that the event had achieved its objectives.
